I had the opportunity to speak and present to the new Labor and delivery nurses at Los Robles Hospital this past week. I told them about the roles of a doula and how we work with nurses to help our clients have a dream team of people to help their birth go smoothly. I showed them different comfort measures and techniques we use and how they offer those if the patient doesn’t have a doula. We talked about being a compassionate listener and informed consent. They were super receptive and loved all the information. And I loved sharing what I do, I could talk about birth allllll day long.
