Mary's journey in the birth world started back in 1875 when her great great Aunt Hilda helped catch thousands of the Goshute Indian babies as a midwife. The love of birth and supporting women is in her maternal lineage. Marys mother gave birth to her at home with her 7 year old brother assisting the midwife in delivery. From a young age Mary's mother had always loved all of her 5 home births and had spoken so highly of them, in fact 30 of Marys cousins were all home birth babies. Mary was overjoyed when she got pregnant with her daughter Summer. She had her daughter at the hospital after 15 minutes of arriving, it was a quick and funny labor and delivery. Mary was laughing as Summer came out. About 6 months after her daughters birth, Mary, her mom and her sister became Yoga instructors. Mary started sharing her love of yoga with other new moms. About a year after that, she ran into a friend that was pregnant and her friend asked her to be at her birth. That friend offered to pay for her doula training at Bini Birth with the incredible Ana Paula through Dona International. Mary attended that friends birth and loved every second of it. A few years later Mary finally got her home water birth with her son, and it was everything she dreamed of. Then 3 years later she had her 2nd son the same way. Marys friends and family started asking her to attend they're births. It wasn't too long after that she realized this is her true calling. Combining her love of yoga and the poses that work so well in labor, as well as the meditation and breathing that can be so helpful. She uses Spinning babies and The Body Ready Method, as well as Hypnobirthing in all her Prenatal Yoga classes and with clients.
Mary currently teaches yoga and prenatal/postpartum yoga classes as well as mediation and sound bath healing weekly. She incorporates the 2 worlds into one healing modality to allow the mama a peaceful and fearless birth. Marys been trained in labor massage and healing touch, she's taken lactation courses and an Ayurvedic postpartum doula training, where she learned from Heng Ou, the Author of the books "The First Forty Days and Nine Golden Months". She loves to cook and combines that love of feeding new moms in her postpartum work. Mary supports and helps all births, she's done home birth, birth centers, hospital, medicated, unmedicated, inductions, cesarean section, single moms, surrogates, and VBACs.
When she's not supporting mamas, you can find her surfing at the beach with her kids, roller skating while her kids skate or singing karaoke.

I began my chiropractic career, focused on wellness for families in the community. After starting to have children and grow a family of my own, I became keenly aware of the specific needs for mamas and really felt the gaps in care offered by most conventional perinatal medicine. This left me seeking a community of like-minded professionals with a shared goal of better care of our mamas, our babies, and our families. After becoming Webster certified in 2018 and deepening my understanding of specific perinatal and neonatal chiropractic practices and treatment options through the international chiropractic pediatric Association, I achieved my specialty Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics, CACCP in 2022. I am also a certified myomunchee practitioner.
My goal through care is to help children thrive to develop into happy, healthy adults. I use a diversified technique so that we can adequately meet the needs of each individual body and create customized treatment plans for the whole family. I’m here to facilitate healthy pregnancy, labor, and delivery experiences for parents and to aid in the development of your child’s body, airway, nervous system, and mindset.

I was born and raised in Santa Monica. I am the oldest of 2 sisters, 1 brother, and my step sister with autism. My siblings and I are very close and I owe it to them for teaching me how to care and love children at a young age. I have loved caring for children for as long as I can remember. I started my own neighborhood babysitting business at the age of 12, where I was mostly a “mother’s helper”, caring for small children, babies, and infants under their mother’s supervision. I took a course in CPR/first aid and continued babysitting throughout high school and college. I worked as a career travel nanny for over 10 tears. During this time I would accompany employers, managing entire households and assist mothers every day as needed. I eventually pursued a career in Animation, working at Klasky Csupo as Assistant to the Director of Recruitment. After becoming pregnant with my daughter and realizing at one month that I would be doing it on my own, I had to reevaluate my career. I got my credentials to become a Montessori Preschool Teacher and became a teacher so that my daughter could be with me every day at work. For 10 years, my daughter and I fostered 6 children ages 5 months to 18 years old. We opened our home to students of all ages from other countries who were in the US attending in the ELS program at CLU. I wanted their parents to rest assure that their children were in the best care while away. I also wanted my daughter to experience growing up in a household full of children and love, as I did. After the pandemic, I quit teaching after 12 years to homeschool my daughter. I became a certified massage therapist and I dedicate my practice to helping expecting mothers relieve the physical and emotional stress that pregnancy and the demands of parenting bring. After experiencing my pregnancy alone, I wish I had known of all of these resources available. I now thrive on caring for expectant and new families by helping find relief and relaxation, reduce stress, and ease pain. I am fully committed to providing personalized care by addressing specific concerns and creating individualized treatment plans. Massage is a wonderful way to relieve the physical and emotional stress that pregnancy and the demands of parenting bring. You will feel completely relaxed in my cozy studio listening to the sounds of a crackling fire and soothing music, while experiencing pure bliss on a comfortable table with pillows to add extra comfort. Essential oils are always a plus! I also offer mobile massage if you would love a great experience in the comfort of your own home.

I’m a mom of two teens, but I was a photographer even before they were born. I’ve done every genre imaginable in that time, from babies to weddings to the elderly. With all that experience I can say with a full heart that the most powerful photography is birth photography. That’s where our stories truly begin. It’s taken years as a photographer, but mostly as a mom, to develop the patience, the compassion, and the eye for the most deep and meaningful moments. I’d love to SEE them for you.
